Cat practicals are this week. Week schedule is:
Monday: Last day to work with your cat.
Tuesday: IDT for all classes
Wednesday: Cat practical exam for Wednesday labs. Thursday and Friday labs have IDT.
Thursday: Cat practical for Thursday lab. Wednesday and Friday labs have IDT.
Friday: Cat practical for Friday labs. Wednesday and Thursday labs have IDT.
YOU CANNOT MAKE UP THE PRACTICAL. IF YOU ARE ABSENT ON YOUR LAB DAY YOU NEED TO TAKE THE EXAM ON ONE OF THE OTHER LAB DAYS. THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE PRACTICAL EXAM. THE EXAM IS GIVEN 4 TIMES: PERIODS 1/2 AND 8/9 ON WEDNESDAY, PERIOD 3/4 ON THURSDAY AND PERIOD 5/6 ON FRIDAY. PLEASE BE ON TIME FOR THE PRACTICAL. YOU CANNOT START LATE.

Some last minute ideas of things to do: know where and when your test is, have a 4-function calculator with a square root key, don't cram, watch the Bozeman videos, use your prep books, revisit the prezi's and your chapter outlines, study the figure legends in the textbook, read your lab notebook.

It is 3 weeks before the AP exam.
Lab notebooks should be completed this week.
Get yourselves a 4-function calculator with a square root function.
Continue with your review/study plan focusing on what you identified as your weak areas. Use the videos and prezi's.
We will start working with some practice tests this week.
Week of 10 April, 2017
It is 4 weeks before the AP exam. Spend time this week executing your study plan. Use the PREP book sample test to diagnose the areas you know and don't know. Review those sections in the PREP book and then with your handwritten outlines from the course. Supplement your outlines by reviewing the associated figure legends in the text.
All the class prezi's are on line as well.
Acquire a four function calculator (not a scientific calculator) with a square root function.

Lab this week will be aquatic productivity. We will give you the data. The protocol is posted in Classroom.
There are no outlines this week; you have completed the textbook.

Lab this week will be a short exercise on circulatory physiology. We will also start a lab on aquatic productivity. The protocols are posted in Classroom.
Outlines for chapters 52, 53 and 54 will be available this week. You need only skin chapter 52.

Lab this week is transformation of E. coli with the plasmid pGlo.
Test on Immunity (one chapter) next Monday.
Week of 13 March, 2017
Lab this week is estimation of the length of a DNA molecule by gel electrophoresis. The protocol is posted in Classroom.
Outlines for chapters 38 and 47 will be available in class this week.
Week of 6 March, 2017
Chapter 43, 48 and 49 outlines will be available in class. You only have to skim chapter 49 to capture the main ideas but I will provide an outline for you regardless, you need not complete it but some students will find it helpful in organizing the flow of information.
Plan for a test on transport physiology (plant (36) and animal (42)) on Thursday. Format is MC and problems (water potential and chi square). Water potential reviews were posted on Classroom; Chi square you just finished for the fruit fly lab.
Lab this week will be on fragment analysis of lambda phage with restriction nucleases. Protocol is posted on Classroom. BE PREPARED. PURCHASE A SECOND LAB NOTEBOOK IF YOU NEED ONE. THERE ARE SIX MORE EXPERIMENTS.
Week of 27 February, 2017
Chapter 45 and 43 outlines will be available this week in class. Note that we are using chapter 39 for two topics, plant cell communication (hormones) and plant immunity.
Lab this week will be the completion of the fruit fly genetics experiments. Class data will be available
Water potential problems and answer key will be posted on Classroom. Review these problems. Make an appointment for review if you need to.
