Lab this week will be a short exercise on circulatory physiology. We will also start a lab on aquatic productivity. The protocols are posted in Classroom.

Outlines for chapters 52, 53 and 54 will be available this week. You need only skin chapter 52.

Outlines for chapters 51 and 50 will be available in class.

Lab this week is transformation of E. coli with the plasmid pGlo.

Test on Immunity (one chapter) next Monday.
Week of 13 March, 2017
Lab this week is estimation of the length of a DNA molecule by gel electrophoresis. The protocol is posted in Classroom.

Outlines for chapters 38 and 47 will be available in class this week.
Week of 6 March, 2017
Chapter 43, 48 and 49 outlines will be available in class. You only have to skim chapter 49 to capture the main ideas but I will provide an outline for you regardless, you need not complete it but some students will find it helpful in organizing the flow of information.

Plan for a test on transport physiology (plant (36) and animal (42)) on Thursday. Format is MC and problems (water potential and chi square). Water potential reviews were posted on Classroom; Chi square you just finished for the fruit fly lab.

Lab this week will be on fragment analysis of lambda phage with restriction nucleases. Protocol is posted on Classroom. BE PREPARED. PURCHASE A SECOND LAB NOTEBOOK IF YOU NEED ONE. THERE ARE SIX MORE EXPERIMENTS.
Week of 27 February, 2017
Chapter 45 and 43 outlines will be available this week in class. Note that we are using chapter 39 for two topics, plant cell communication (hormones) and plant immunity.

Lab this week will be the completion of the fruit fly genetics experiments. Class data will be available

Water potential problems and answer key will be posted on Classroom. Review these problems. Make an appointment for review if you need to.

No lab is scheduled for this week. We may have to release the F1 adults in the Fruit Fly cultures depending on how fast the F2's are growing.
