Instructor: Dr. Robert Kennedy
AP Biology: Your weekly planner
Week of 23 October, 2017
Chapters 13 and 14 reading guides will be available in class.

Test on Chapters 9 and 10 is on Tuesday, 10/24 Thursday 10/26. The format is 40% multiple choice, 60% lab-based questions from enzyme catalysis and osmosis and diffusion labs. You will need a calculator; you cannot share calculators. Formula sheets and rulers will be provided.

Lab notebooks will be checked on Friday 10/27.
Week of 16 October, 2017
Chapter 10 outline will be available in class.

Lab this week is mitosis and meiosis. The protocol is posted in Classroom.

Chapter 9 and 10 test will be Oct 24. The format is MC and short answer lab questions.

Week of 9 October, 2017
Chapter 9 outline will available in class this week.

Lab this week is Osmosis and diffusion. Please read the protocol before your lab day.

Week of 2 October, 2017
Reading guide for chapter 8 will be available in class.

Chapter 3-5 (not 2) test on Wednesday. See last week's post for details.

No lab is scheduled for this week. Lab notebooks due in the lab on Thursday.
Week of 25 September, 2017
Reading guides for chapters 11 and 12 will be available in class.

Plan for the first test to be Oct 4. The format is 45-50 multiple choice and one lab question concerning the analysis of data from the isopod behavior lab. The test will cover chapters 2-5, the emphasis is water and macromolecules.

Lab this week is enzyme catalysis. The protocol is posted in Classroom. When you read the protocol, pay attention to the titration procedure section. Titration is how you measure the H2O2 remaining after the reaction, you use it in each of the three experiments: baseline, uncatalyzed, catalyzed. This experiment takes two days at least.

Week of 18 September, 2017
Reading guides for chapters 6 and 7 will be available in class.

Read, study and take notes in the Reading Guides for the assigned chapters according to the posted Syllabus.

We will continue data collection for the isopod experiment.

Week of 11 September, 2017
Reading guides for chapters 4 and 5 will be available in class.
Read, study and take notes in the Reading Guides for the assigned chapters according to the posted Syllabus.

Lab this cycle will be isopod behavior. Period 1 has a lab on A Day (9/14). Period 3 has a lab on B Day (9/19). Bring your lab notebook to class on 9/13 (E Day).
Week of 4 September, 2017
Welcome to AP Biology!
Read, study and take notes in the Reading Guides for the assigned chapters according to the posted Syllabus.

Purchase a composition style, graph paper page, notebook as described in class for use in the laboratory.

Period 1 Lab on A Day
Period 3 Lab on B Day
